Finish Work Continues

The Valley got hit with a pretty good storm this past week. This is our driveway... Can't wait to get out there and do some skiing!

Even with the storm, there has been a lot of activity at the project. All of the pieces are coming together. Below is a picture of the living room. With the exception of the metal surround for the fireplace, this room is very close to being complete. The walls are painted, the ceiling fan is in, and the door hardware has been installed.

The interior railings and stairs are complete. The recycled treads really cleaned up well and the cables look great.

The tile layout in the guest bath is coming together well.

Tim was able to use a recycled piece of wood for the sink base in the powder room.

The plumbing fixtures are starting to be installed. Here is a shot of the tub and tub filler. While the picture window displaying a winter wonderland may take top bill, the finished tile wall looks great too.

This is an image from the master bedroom. The clean lines, huge windows, and wood ceiling definitely play nice together in this image.

Metal and Tile Work

The countertops are in! Below is a picture of the island in the kitchen.

Here is a shot of the guest bath.

The metal guys have been busy. Over the past week, the steel railings and the brackets to hold the treads were installed. We were able to use recycled wood for the treads. The piece of wood in the below photos has not been finished yet. Can you spot the dog?

The final pieces of metal were installed on the chimney, and if you look closely, you can see the wire loosely strung along the railings. If you look even more closely, there is a dog trying to get in the front door. :)

The title guys have also been busy. The below is an action shot of tile being installed in the master bath. We used a large format tile (12" x 24") to cover the entire south wall of the bathroom.

The below was one of Tim's more artistic images that we had to include. He sent this so that we could confirm the color of the grout. Nice pic, Tim!

Bring on the finish work!

The majority of the work has now moved indoors and we are seeing the finishing touches on the project. The project should be completed this month! There is still a ton to do, but things are really coming together.

One of the most significant developments over the last two weeks was the install of the cabinets. The kitchen, master bath, guest bath, master bedroom, and media room all had cabinets. They still need work, but we were able to get a good idea of how they looked.

Kitchen:

Master bath:

Master closet (still missing the draw faces on the lowers):

Media room:

Painting is well underway too. We spent many many hours picking the most amazing shade of white: super blanco. It's not just white, it's super white. Here is a pic of the dining area.

The tiling crew has finished their prep work and should be installing tile very soon. The below is a shot of the shower in the master bath. The entirety of the south wall in the master will be tiled.

The fireplace is installed but still waiting for its steel surround.

Perhaps the surprise favorite on this last trip was the metal work for the stairs. The steel stringers are looking great! We are very happy with how they turned out and can't wait to see how the wood treads finish the look.

There was a pretty good snowstorm on this last trip, but Olive didn't seem to mind.
